NOTE FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE FOR PARENTS
Just a few reminders in regards to student health.
Please do not send ill children to school. Not only do they risk the chance of catching other germs but they can spread their illness to others.
Use these guidelines to determine if your child should stay home:
· Persistent and uncontrollable cough
· Fever of 100.0 degrees or higher
· Persistent headache
· Vomiting and/or diarrhea, ongoing stomach pain
· Sore throat lasting more than 3 days
· Unexplained rashes
· Any of the above with general fatigue
Please take your child to their health care provider if they have any of the following:
· Ongoing respiratory issues persistent cough, chest tightness or pain
· Unexplained fever of over 101.0 degrees
· Sore throat lasting more than 3 days
· Red, itchy or burning eyes with or without discharge
Regarding Medicine at School
If your child needs to take any kind of medicine at school (including over the counter medicine), we need a special consent form filled out per Denver Public School policy with parent and doctor permission. Any medicine brought to school without permission will be given to the health office and a parent will need to pick it up.
Please call your doctor or myself if you have any questions. And remember to call the school when students are absent for any reason.
